A multiple traits Evaluation Index to screen useful
silkworm (Bombyx mori) hybrid genotypes

Abstract - Eighteen new multivoltine silkworm (Bombyx mori) heterozygotic hybrids have been evaluated, for the cumulative effect of seven traits of economic importance, with the aim of selecting useful ones. Six of them, namely S15 x G (E.I. = 63.12), Oval x G (60.91), Nistari x Oval (58.69), G x A25 (57.94), A25 x G (57.39) and Oval x Nistari (51.76) have scored higher values of the Evaluation Index (E.I.), and could be selected for further exploitation keeping in view the magnitude of objectives.
