Nueva subespecie mexicana de Dynastes hercules (L.)
(Coleoptera: Melolonthidae: Dynastinae)

Abstract - A new Mexican subspecies of Dynastes hercules (L.) (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae: Dynastinae) - Dynastes hercules tuxtlaensis nov. ssp. is described from two male specimens collected in the tropical montane forest of Los Tuxtlas, Veracruz, and compared with other subspecies. The head, pronotum and genital capsule are illustrated. The isolation of the Los Tuxtlas population is emphasized, mainly in relation to those of D. hercules septentrionalis Lachaume.
