Abstract - Additions to the genus Plusiotis Burmeister, 1844 (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae, Rutelinae) - Five new species of Plusiotis are described. P. colima n. sp., P. nogueirai n. sp. and P. xalixteca n. sp. were collected in the western mountains of Mexico, P. tapantina n. sp. in the Province of Cartago, Costa Rica, and P. oreicola n. sp. in the Province of Chiriqui, Panama and in the Province of Limón, Costa Rica. A very interesting color variation of P. xalixteca n. sp. is also described and illustrated, with comments about some cline relationships with P. flohri Ohaus. The male genital capsules and the female ventral genital plates of the new species are illustrated, as for the first time the female genital plates of P. beyeri Skinner, P. chalcothea Bates, P. laniventris (Sturm) and P. prasina Boucard. Emendations to the key to the species of the "prasina group" (Morón & Howden, 1992) and a key to the species of the "laniventris group" (sensu Morón, 1990) are included.
