Abstract - Notes on Lionychus fleischeri Reitter, with description of a new subspecies (Coleoptera, Carabidae) - The taxonomy of Lionychus fleischeri Reitter, 1908 (= L. unicolor Fleischer, 1900 nec Schilsky) is discussed (with description of a new subspecies from Crete), and a key for the identification of its subspecies is given. The morphological differences among L. fleischeri Reitter s.l. and the aberrations without elytral white spots of European species of Lionychus are given. A note corrects the references to figures of the article "A new species of Harpalus Latreille, 1802 (subg. Megapangus Casey, 1914) from the U.S.A. (Coleoptera, Carabidae)" published by the A. in this same magazine [Vol. 2 (No. 11), 31 December 1985].
