Abstract - A new species of Aphodius from Spain - Aphodius (Nimbus) richardi - is described. This species is related to A. (Nimbus) obliteratus Panz. and A. (Nimbus) johnsoni Bar. and it constitutes with them a relatively homogenous group ("obliteratus" group), which is here reviewed. Some original drawings of male genitalia and the photographs of Holotypus and Allotypus complete this work.
