Abstract - Chrysobothris petersoni sp. nov. (Col.: Buprestidae: Chrysobothrinae) is described from Western Australia. It is the largest of the Australian species of the genus and is distinguished from its closest relative, C. blackburni Obenberger, also from Western Australia, by the elytral impressions, colour of the last abdominal sternite and body size. A key to the Western Australian species of Chrysobothris is provided.
