2. The genera Paragymnopleurus and Sisyphus

Abstract - The Bornean species of the genera Paragymnopleurus Shipp and Sisyphus Latreille are revised. The taxon spinotus Boucomont, originally described as a variety of Gymnopleurus maurus (Sharp), is raised to species rank: Paragymnopleurus spinotus (Boucomont). Paragymnopleurus pauliani Janssens is downgraded to subspecies of P. maurus (Sharp). Most taxa are redescribed and their male genitalia and other characters illustrated. A key to the Bornean species of the genus Paragymnopleurus is provided. Sisyphus thoracicus Sharp is also briefly redescribed and figures of male genitalia and other characters are given.
