Abstract - Hybalus ameliae López-Colón, 1986 and Hybalus baguenai López-Colón, 1986, two species from the Iberian south - Hybalus ameliae [Hybalus ameliae ameliae López-Colón, 1986] and Hybalus baguenai [Hybalus ameliae baguenai López-Colón, 1986] are distinct species, not subspecies of the same species.
