Abstract - A new larval host plant, Eucalyptus viminalis Labill. (Myrtaceae), is recorded for the Australian jewel beetle, Nascio vetusta (Boisduval) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae: Buprestinae). The larval/pupal chambers are described and illustrated. No other buprestids have been recorded from E. viminalis. Nascio vetusta has been recorded breeding only in the myrtaceous genera Eucalyptus and Metrosideros, indicating first-degree oligophagy.
