Abstract - During the years 1988 and 1989 (from May to September), a sampling was carried out at 38 sites in the Orocantabrian phytogeographic province, situated in the north of the Iberian peninsula and belonging to the Euro-Siberian phytogeographic region. By means of pitfall traps baited with liver, 7830 specimens belonging to 20 species were collected. The present study reports on the different species found. Outstanding data for occurrence or distribution regard Ptomaphagus sericatus (Chaudoir, 1845), Sciodrepoides fumatus fumatus (Spence, 1815), Catops grandicollis (Erichson, 1847), Catops nigricans (Spence, 1815) and a Nargus sp.
