Abstract - The genus Haploglossa Kraatz is revised for North America. Two species are recognized: H. nebulosa (Casey) (Rheochara nebulosa Casey) and H. barberi (Fenyes) (Microglotta barberi Fenyes). H. mexicana (Sharp) (Microglossa mexicana Sharp) may be a senior synonym of H. nebulosa (Casey), but missing apical abdominal segments and genitalia from the single known specimen of H. mexicana make this assignment uncertain. A key for the separation of the North American species is given and descriptions and illustrations of genitalic features, mouthparts, and habitus are provided.
