subgenus Ocydromus Clairville, 1806 sensu stricto
of the saxatile Gyllenhal, 1827 species group,
with description of B. (O.) muemo sp. n.
from Iran and Afghanistan

Abstract - Bembidion (Ocydromus) muemo sp. n. is described from Iran and Afghanistan together with an informal review of the subspecies of Bembidion (Ocydromus) saxatile Gyllenhal, 1827 to which this new species is strictly related. Bembidion vaillanti (Schuler, 1956) is here considered a good species, not a subspecies of B. saxatile. A key to the species and subspecies of the saxatile group and a list of the subspecies of B. saxatile are also provided. New distribution records for Bembidion saxatile ssp. flavipalpe Netolitzky, 1930 and Bembidion saxatile ssp. caesareum Netolitzky, 1914 are also given.
