Description of a new species of
Heterorrhynchus Calabresi, 1921 from northern Vietnam
(Coleoptera, Brentidae)

by

LUCA BARTOLOZZI

Abstract - Heterorrhynchus eyloni n. sp. from Vietnam is described based on a single male specimen. The new taxon is closely related to Heterorrhynchus ornatus Calabresi, 1921 from Borneo, but can be distinguished by the upper side of the male prorostrum which is enlarged basally instead of having parallel sides; by the anterior coxae slightly pubescent, instead of strongly pilose; by the articles 2 and 3 of the antennae not hollowed-out inferiorly; by the different disposition of the elytral yellow marks. The new species is illustrated and a key is given to separate the two species of the genus.
