Abstract - Two new species of Notiobia Perty, 1830 of the subgenus Diatypus Murray, 1858 and notes on Notiobia (Diatypus) picina (Chaudoir, 1878) and related species (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Harpalinae) - Two new species of Notiobia Perty, 1830 of the subgenus Diatypus Murray, 1858 from Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are here described. Notiobia (Diatypus) aethiopica n. sp. and Notiobia (Diatypus) demeyeri n. sp. are the seventeenth and eighteenth species respectively, known so far of the subgenus. The habitus and male genitalia of the new species are illustrated, and some further systematic notes on Notiobia (Diatypus) picina (Chaudoir, 1878) and related species are provided. Moreover, the following new synonymy is proposed: Phanagnathus Basilewsky, 1950 = Diatypus Murray, 1858.
